Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City Premium River
Day 1. Arrive Siem Reap, Angkor
Visit Opportunities of Development thru Art (ODA) and unwind at the Shinta Mani Resort. Travelmarvel supports the Shinta Mani Foundation, which provides fresh water to local communities.
Transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, travel to the temple of Ta Prohm. Enjoy an Insider experience before a delicious Welcome Dinner and an Apsara dance performance.
Day 2. Angkor, Siem Reap
This morning, tailor your day by choosing one of Travelmarvel’s select experiences. Later, discover the fascinating remains of Angkor Archaeological Park, a long-standing tribute to the ancient Khmer Empire. Visit the 12th-century temple Bayon. Finish your day with a spectacular sunset at Angkor Wat.
Day 3. Siem Reap, Embark Cruise at Prek K’dam
Transfer to Prek K’dam to embark your Mekong River cruise. The Mekong’s unique charm is found in this stunning region with greenery strewn throughout the riverbank and the floating villages. Board your river ship and indulge in your first dinner prepared by our own onboard chef.
Day 4. Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Tralach, Oudong
Take an ox-cart ride, coined the ‘Khmer limousine’, and see how locals live in rural Cambodia. Later, travel to the former royal capital Oudong for a Buddhist blessing.
Enjoy a small boat expedition of the wetlands near Kampong Chhnang. Enjoy an Insider Experience before advancing on to Kampong Tralach.
Day 5. Koh Chen, Phnom Penh
The heartbeat hammering of the open-air silver and copperware workshops announces your arrival at Koh Chen. Visit some of the home workshops in this small village before continuing towards Phnom Penh, the charismatic capital city of Cambodia.
Day 6. Phnom Penh
Explore the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which recalls one of the darkest moments of the 20th century. This afternoon, take a tour to visit the Royal Palace. See the Silver Pagoda located within the Royal Palace complex and admire the Emerald Buddha carved from baccarat crystal. After dinner, perhaps step out for an evening walk around the capital.
Day 7. Border Crossing, Tan Chau
Spend today on board as your ship cruises to the Vietnamese border. Offering amazing views, reclining loungers, a swimming pool and cold drinks from the bar, the Sun Deck is a great place to relax. This afternoon, you might like to attend a fruit-carving demonstration by the ship’s chef while border formalities are carried out and you cross into Vietnam. Tonight, watch a documentary film about Pol Pot as your ship cruises towards the small Vietnamese town of Tan Chau.
Day 8. Tan Chau, Sa Dec
After breakfast, transfer to a small boat and travel along the Mekong’s tiny tributaries, observing the stilt house villages. Go ashore for a tour of Tan Chau by rickshaw. Known as one of the largest silk-weaving centres of Vietnam, enhance your experience by visiting the fascinating local artisan workshops to learn more about the history of the craft.
Day 9. Sa Dec, Cai Be
Take a boat ride to the charming colonial town of Sa Dec for a tour. Visit Huynh Thuy Le’s old house, once the lover of French writer Marguerite Duras, the namesake of our vessel. After lunch, a local boat transfers you to the river-land town of Cai Be. See the French Gothic cathedral. Go ashore to visit a local rice paper manufacturer to learn how rice paper is made. After, visit a coconut candy factory to see how the local sweet is created. Enjoy a final dinner on board your ship.
Day 10. Disembark Ship, Cu Chi Tunnels, Ho Chi Minh City
Be close to the city’s action at the modern Fusion Suites Saigon.
Disembark at My Tho Port today and travel by coach to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a tunnel network built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the Vietnam War. For dinner, you may like to choose from one of our select dining experiences.
Day 11. Ho Chi Minh City
Indulge in a Farewell Dinner at The Chopsticks, Saigon.

Day 12. Depart Ho Chi Minh City
Your journey ends after breakfast today with a transfer to the airport.
